ABOUT

We are now a registered society. read more

The Parksville & District Rock and Gem Club  was an unincorporated non-profit organization formed many years ago as the 69’ers Club of Coombs. It later changed to its current name and in May 1984 was welcomed as a member of the Provincial Society & in 2014 we celebrated our 30th Anniversary.

BCLS Member Clubs are members of BC Lapidary Society.
Members of our Club become members of the Gem and Mineral Federation of Canada (GMFC)..Members vary in knowledge and experience. Everyone has an interest in rocks, minerals, gems or lapidary at some level.

We are re active within our community, speaking to children in after school projects, hosting interactive tables at various community events,

On our monthly meetings we frequently have guest speakers, often our own members,  who are specialists within these fields and others related, such as local history and geology, as well as having presentations from members of other rockhounding clubs on Vancouver Island..
